TITEBOND BLACKTOP REPAIR SEALANT

Titebond Blacktop Repair Sealant is a non-reactive, durable, acrylic latex formula specifically designed for repairing and sealing cracks in all asphalt surfaces. It dries quickly with a textured black color that blends well with surrounding surfaces. It will not peel, chip, crack or pull away from repaired areas due to temperature changes, UV light or severe weather changes. It helps prevent damage due to water and ice.

Application Guidelines

  • Caulks & Sealants Calculators: Click to calculate the right amount of Titebond caulk or sealant.
  • Application Temperature: Above 40°F (4°C)
  • Service Temperature Range: -25°F to 180°F (-31°C to 82°C)
  • Method of Application: Cartridge/caulking gun
  • Working Time: Approximately 10-15 minutes for a 1/4" bead
  • Application Directions: 1. Surfaces must be clean and free of any material that may prevent adequate adhesion. Properly designed joint not to exceed 1/2" in width. 2. Cut tip at 45° angle to desired bead width and place in cartridge gun. 3. Force sealant into clean joint. If necessary, smooth bead immediately. 4. Do not allow foot or vehicular traffic on repaired area until it is completely dry. It is the sole responsibility of the user to thoroughly test any proposed use with all substrates to determine project suitability. NOTE: Two layers of Blacktop Repair, 1/4” to 1/2” thick that are allowed to dry thoroughly between applications, are better than one heavy layer.
  • Cleanup: Clean uncured material with water. After curing, excess sealant must be cut or scraped away.

Limitations

Not designed for continuous submersion or use below the waterline. Air, sealant and surface temperature should be above 40°F. Do not apply if rain is expected within 12 hours. Cure time is dependent upon ambient conditions including temperature and humidity. The sealant should be dry to the touch and ready to paint in 2-4 hours. Allow to cure for 24 hours before direct contact with water. Wait 24 hours prior to coating with an asphalt or tar based driveway sealer. For best results, store in a dry location at or below 75°F.
